LSD has been readily available in Germany for some time now – in online shops, at events, and even in dedicated stores. And it's completely legal.
The principle is quite simple: the molecular structure of real LSD is slightly modified, resulting in a substance with almost identical effects. While it's far less researched than LSD, it's completely legal. The substance currently circumventing the ban is called 1V-LSD. But what happens when a psychedelic drug becomes so readily available?
VICE met the inventor of the substance in a laboratory where he works and talked to him about his project. How did he develop the substance? What motivates him?
