8. Bob Geldof Heckling Nigel Farage
Bob Geldof of the Boomtown Rats is nowadays as well known for his political activism as he is for being the lead singer for The Boomtown Rats. While trying to promote Brexit in the summer of 2016, Nigel Farage was sailing down the Thames with other anti-EU supporters when Bob Geldof and friends set sail as well, engaging in what was described as a “flotilla war” with Nigel Farage and his company, heckling from their yacht.

7. Brawl at the Ukrainian Parliament
Photos snapped from the scene at a brawl in the Ukrainian Parliament in 2015 have often been described as looking like old Renaissance paintings. During Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk’s report at the podium, the fight started when a deputy from Petro Poroshenko’s side tried to drag the Prime MInister away. After that, all hell broke loose, resulting in a house wide fist fight amongst the politicians.

6. A Mayor and Councilman Brawl
Politicians fight all the time apparently, and not just verbally. There’s been a share of politicians getting physical with each other, as seen in that incident in the Ukraine. A smaller scale incident happened in Birmingham, Alabama when Mayor William Bell went at it with Councilman Marcus Lundy during a council meeting. Lundy was the instigator of the assault, apparently, when they were in the council chambers and Lundy apparently just went at Bell with injuries abound.

5. Ed Miliband’s Bacon Sandwich
Again, being in the public eye, it’s hard to do anything at peace. And that includes eating. Former leader of the Labour Party Ed Miliband was turned into a meme after being mocked for the way he are his bacon sandwich. He was on a campaign tour when the photo was snapped, and he’s had to live it down ever since.

4. Ben Carson’s Entrance to the GOP Debate
There’s no room for being awkward when you’re a politician. Ben Carson learned this, namely when he pretty much botched his entrance at one of the GOP debates in 2016. He was supposed to just walk through the area you see here and then make his way to the stage. But Carson didn’t seem to get that memo as he proceeded to just stand there and then meekly smile as the camera stayed on him. In the video, you can see someone behind the curtain trying to direct Carson to move forward, but it was too late, and it’s a cringey moment that will live on forever.

3. Anthony Albanese DJ set
Okay, so we’ve seen our fair share of awkward politicians. Can we get some cool ones please? Anthony Albanese, an Australian politician, seems to also be a skilled DJ. Here is is at Bella Union in Melbourne spinning some records like he knows what he’s doing.

2. Marine Le Pen
During a speech Marine Le Pen was giving, two female activists had stormed the stage and threw a bouquet of flowers at the French lawyer and politician. After being accused of not really being a feminist, the two activists charged at her, and were then dragged off stage by security.

1. Bush Shoeing Incident
On December 14, 2008, a journalist from Iraq, Muntadhar al-Zaidi, had famously thrown a pair of shoes. He launched his shoes at the head of then President of the United States, George Bush. Bush, in turn, quite impressively and successfully dodged the shoes. While it was an act that was propelled by political angst and tension, watching it happen was bizarre, especially at first since no one knew what was going on.
