🔍 Part 35: Reflecting Patterns
To reflect a grouped panel across the centre front or fold line, select the entire panel with the selection tool. Right click, select transform and reflect to bring up the reflect dialogue box. Choose either horizontal or vertical. I normally use vertical since the centre front or centre back is on the vertical axis. Click COPY. Now click and drag the centre front line of the new reflected panel to match the centre front of the original panel. Hold down SHIFT to make sure they are kept in alignment. The same works when reflecting horizontally.
To join your panels and make them one, select the pattern outline with the direct selection tool and click pathfinder, unite. Next, draw a centre front line using the line tool and give it a dash stroke. You will also need to group your joined panels.
