How Brazil Took Acre from Bolivia
How did Brazil take the state of Acre from Brazil and incorporate it as one of it's own? The Amazon was one of the last region of the Americas to be fully incorporated into the new post-colonial nations that arose in North and South America, and the region that became Acre was fought over by Peru, Bolivia and Brazil. Eventually due to the influx of tens of thousands of Brazilian settlers, the region declared independence from Bolivia and was annexed by Brazil at the start of the 20th century. Thanks for watching
