Today we are going to show you another soul place which is known as a Tehri lake-Uttarakhand. This lake is also known as Asia's largest man made lake.
We have started our journey from Rishikesh to Tehri lake through chamba Tehri
highway. it is around 83 km far from Rishikesh, 233 km from New Delhi and 101 km from Dehradun
. so let me take you through the current route. We all know that Uttarakhand is land of gods but it is
also the land of rivers and mountains. so lets talk about Tehri and the lake.
Tehri used to be a small town situated at Bhagirathi and bhilangna river confluence. which later submerged because of Tehri dam construction. which now you can see
the Asia's largest man made lake and during this dam construction the whole town population evacuated and shifted in new Tehri town.
now you can see the whole lake is on submerged old tehri town.
At the time when Tehri Dam was made the State Government (Uttarakhand) has decided to convert the famous Tehri Lake into an Adventure Tourism. Tehri Lake includes
many different and varied activities from Jet Skiing to Hot air balloon rides.
They have various water sports activities like boating and jet speed boar ride
, whotdog ride , water skiing. as well they have also paragliding and
hot air balloon and beautiful stay facility like resorts and hotels.
