This house in Lomas de Chapultepec had to be transformed into a flexible and usable space for new generations.
Encapsulated in its original form, this home now features an event venue, meeting room, library, playroom, souvenir gallery and guest bedrooms. The challenge was to convert a residential house into a family meeting center that could host small intimate meetings, up to banquets of more than 60 people. Movable panels and flexible furniture managed to fulfill the intention without losing the familiar and welcoming atmosphere.
The interior design tries to harmonize original pieces of the house with a current proposal and pays special attention to the selection of sober finishes in light woods and touches of neutral colors on the walls. A new furniture design and restoration of the existing furniture was proposed. The preservation and selection of works of art was an important part of the project, as well as the lighting of each space.
