Italian design house Zagato’s style of minimalism is evident in their take on the 1986 V8, considered to be a modern interpretation of the DB 4 Zagato. Announced at the 1985 Geneva Motor Show, the reprisal of the two company’s co-operation stimulated a sense of nostalgia for the incredible DB 4 Zagato. Like its predecessor the Aston Martin V8 Zagato became one of the fastest vehicles of its time, due to a reduction of the wheelbase, removal of the rear seats and the aerodynamic Zagato aluminum body.
A 430bhp V8 engine powered the Zagato, with twin-choke carburettors. Performance from this engine was truly remarkable; the top speed of 185.8mph was reportedly achieved by French Magazine ‘Power Auto’ whilst the Police had lunch!
