WAF 1 model diesel engine ,1953
Here we have another rebuild for Adrian. The pretty rare and lovely German WAF 1 with 1ccm capacity.
Today the WAF 1 is not easy to find.I saw it on Ebay only a few times.It was produced in larger numbers,but there are no numbers. Sold till at least 1963..and thats still 56 years back in time...almost as me!!
The engine is rebuilded from 2 bad engines..one had a welded carter and broken shaft,the other had a better carter,and a terrible cooling head and broken rod..Both missing the compl. nva and spinners...so now it comes out pretty good.
I will also rebuild the other parts and make a new shaft..I am sure my friend Marcin will have a use for it!
It was a very popular engine in Germany together with the Taifuns and Webras ..a very high quality build engine,....with superb fits and finish.
And even it is a long stroke design,it performs excellent...and still keep it fantastic starting qualities...Highly recomended engine..
I hope you like this short video. I need to first upgrade my PC..before making any new longer clips...as this PC have some real issues,when work with video editing..its just too much for the old poor thing!
