Why It's So Hard to Find an Authentic Matrix Code Rain Animation
With the recent reveal of the Matrix 4: Resurrections trailer, I thought I'd go back and revisit a challenge I had tried many years ago: making the Matrix Code Rain. My latest solution is still a little off, but it looks closer than the first time I tried it. Using p5.js, the tools make it a lot easier today. And, there are some good looking fonts out there to help with duplicating the custom characters that the original artist used to create the Matrix Code Rain artwork. There are, also, many guides to duplicating the animation in a variety of coding environments.
Even so, each of the examples I studies had there exactness and lack thereof. This can make it really hard to find an example of the animation without referencing the movies or video games.
I didn't let that stop me. I took my best shot at the challenge, and I think I did a pretty good job. Tell me what you think. Also, if you want to learn how I coded this challenge. Stay tuned for an upcoming, 3 part tutorial.
