The currents in the Strait of Singapore are very complex, due to the interaction between tidal and monsoonal influences, not to mention turbulence caused by an uneven seafloor and numerous rocks and small islands in the Straits. This video shows the current speed and direction flowing through the Straits over a 48hr period.
