One of the most important and often overlooked parts of getting into sim racing is configuring your wheel and pedals to get a realistic and driveable response from your hardware. Makes sense right? This is often your only direct interface with a sim. As part of the Beginner view series I’m going to be outlining what settings I use for various sims and in this video that sim of choice is Assetto Corsa using Content Manager.

Firstly, let's get content manager installed, it is a pretty simple process, go to https://assettocorsa.club/content-man... scroll to the bottom of the page and click to download Content Manager Lite.

Drag the files somewhere you will remember to find them again and double click `Content Manager`, this will open up content manager and we should be able to safely move on to setting things up.

I’m using the latest Fanalab software and firmware for my setup. I’d advise you do the same as some of the older versions had some strange behaviour, including not applying your settings! The latest Fanalab at the time of writing is v1.54.5. How you change profiles might differ with older or new versions so if you're having trouble leave a comment below.

With that out of the way let’s have a look at Fanalab for our settings and how to load those up when we start the game.

Open Fanalab and click on Game Profile, select Assetto Corsa and then double click the `Recommended FFB Settings` profile. Click the tuning menu and drop the gain from 100% to 70%, then head on back to the Game Profile screen. Once you're there you can click the text field just above the save button, select all the text and give your new profile a meaningful name, the hit save. To make this new profile load with your game click the Default button next to the profile name, once that is done it should display a tick next to it.

Now we can go back to Content Manager, using the top navigation we select `Settings`, then `Assetto Corsa`, `Controls`. Click on `Force Feedback` and then use these FFB settings:

Gain: 80%
Filter: 0%
Minimum Force: 0%

All effects: 0%

Leave everything else as default and this should be a good base for any car. Content Manager has some built-in presets that you might also want to have a look at but be sure to save your new preset first!

I hope this helps you with your sim racing journey!
