Bratislava | Beyond | City tour
Bratislava is a city where you can see many sights in a single day, and in various ways: on foot, by public transport, or even by electric scooter.
Our destination is the Slovak National Theatre, because today's itinerary includes a tour in a vintage bus that will take us around the Old Town. Along the Danube riverbank and across the SNP Bridge, we head back to the Old Town to continue our exploration on foot. The beautiful weather invites us to a refreshing ice cream break and a leisurely stroll through the maze of narrow streets.
Passing the 17th-century Jesuit Church, we reach the central Main Square again, the heart of the historic Old Town. Halfway between St. Martin's Cathedral and St. Michael's Gate stands the Poor Clares Church.
Afterwards, the city tour takes us up to Bratislava Castle, because a visit to the 85-meter-high castle hill with its iconic Slovak landmark is an absolute must!
Back in the Old Town, we visited the Old Market Hall, where a 15th-century bastion once stood.
After indulging in some hearty Slovak cuisine, we headed to the Castle Grounds, also known as the "Sugar Cloak." Just before sunset, a little tired, we brought a wonderful day in Bratislava to a close.
