Join my friend Dave and I in this short Mini Series (3 part) about our overlanding adventure through the beautiful mountains of Colorado. As we travel to and overland the evergreen mountain range, we are met with unexpected challenges that make the experience exciting and unpredictable. As plans of exploration change from Black Bear Pass to Imogene Pass, adventure is guaranteed! Our 4x4 vehicles of choice are Two Toyota 4Runners that are reasonable equipped for the expedition.
Part 2: We pick up where we left off in Part one as we hike and explore the Bullion King Lake and Porphyry Basin. While exploring we fly our aerial drone to find direction and discover interesting features to explore. We continue to push the exploration further with each destination that is reached. Following the expedition I decide to perform a cold plunge in the glacial waters of the Colorado mountains. Once my body returns to a basilar and normal temperature, we return to our vehicles and travel up the million dollar highway to another local trail called the Alpine Loop. After airing down our big mud terrain tires for a comfortable ride, we are stuck in trail traffic as 60 jeeps and rzr side by sides descended the loop. We made lunch and turned back to Ouray, CO for a reasonable meal. With full bellies and happy spirits we turn back to the campsite for another night by the fire and under the clear skies. In Part 3, we wake to a white fluffing of snow and decide to explore Imogene Pass.
