What NBC Thought We Wanted to See
Testing out this part of Camtasia Studio 8, which I also used to do the artificial zoom for the Elsa Garcia Floor Music video.
If you didn't notice the "audio on" icon below the NBC video just means that all of the audio comes from that video instead of the video on the left. If you don't believe that they are taken at the same time, listen to the crowd cheers for the routine that most of the crowd was watching or the person in the background clapping at its conclusion. Or, maybe note how the announcer was announcing Beth's name at the end as she walked off the mats, how Jordyn is hopping in place at the beginning, or Gabby's score published in Beth's video with the reaction from the NBC feed.
Sure it's a month or two late, but this kind of stuff from NBC is nothing new, and is pretty expected when events are all squeezed, cut, and monetized for something like primetime. As such, this happened more than once during the Olympics, and many competitions and Olympics prior, this specific one was the most obvious to me. This was after all (staring at anything and everything Fab/Fierce Five even if there was no gymnastics whatsoever), what most of America wanted to see, and probably someone at NBC wanted to squeeze in Beth's bar routine like they did her floor (similar to how Tim Daggett pitched to NBC to show Zonderland in prelims, which was successful), but were brushed aside in favor of anything and everything domestically American in a very international competition.
"Why show a replay of the #1 scoring Uneven Bars routine from the Qualifying round (and the entire Olympics at least tied with the winner in finals) when the mood is supposed to be set on the disappointment of Jordyn Wieber focused on her tears?" was what they were (probably?) thinking.

As far as opinions on NBC's (artistic, because the other disciplines are nonexistent in comparison) gymnastics coverage, there are three main types (from my own observations):
The people who hate NBC because they want to watch gymnastics to watch gymnastics, and not just their home, local, or favorite country to win everything.
The people who defend NBC in that they are a business that does not care about you and do what they are meant to do; cater to Americans, but still don't like their coverage nonetheless.
The people who praise NBC and call them the perfect network for gymnastics because they stroke their oversized ego above all and love being told that they're right in being biased.
If you have made it this far, have a cookie, or maybe say "I LOVE ICE CREAM SANDWICHES!" and see how people react.
March 2021 update: Apparently this video was picked up by the YouTube algorithm.
