Why Usopp Will Awaken Conqueror’s Haki
What if I told you that Usopp will unlock Conquerors Haki? What if I also told you that he will also unlock future sight? What if I told you that Usopp will use his haki advancements to defeat Van Aguar during the final war? Would you believe me? As hard as it is for you to believe, Usopp is probably the defining character most representative of being a natural born conquruor, and his mastery of haki will allow him to not only achieve his dream of becoming a brave warrior of the sea, but also being a king, becoming sogeking, the sniper king.
One of the most defining traits of a Conquerors Haki user is the ability to stand up and rise to impossible odds, even if you don’t stand a chance, simply because your willpower is that great, great examples are shanks clashing with whitebeard alone on a yonko enemy ship, luffy vs the 3 admirals, kid vs shanks, kid vs kaido.
I think we can all agree Usopp is the most scared and cowardly character in the series, but has he ever backed down from an impossible challenge? Has he ever let fear overcome his desire to fight? Sure, he starts his fights scared and runnning away, but he always, always redeems him self by conquering his fears and rising up to that impossible challenge.
The most famous example is Usopp vs Chew, Usopp began the fight running away, and even playing dead at times, usopp knew he stood no chance, but eventually he overcome and conqurored his fears and rose up to chew, using sheer brains and will power, he was able to finally beat chew, dosen’t that sound like a Conquerors Haki user to you? And if you remember, in that very same arc, Usopp was the one to attack Arlong unprovoked, with his legs shaking after the fact, we all know Arlong would one shot Usopp, yet Usopp still rose to impossible odds.
And he’s still pulling brave feats like this today, recently in egghead, he immediately squared up to Saturn without second thought, and tried to attack Gunko in Elbaf, both times standing no chance.
And to add icing to the cake, I think it’s more subtle but usopp was the only member of the crew who has on more than 1 occasion defied luffy authority as captain. When he joined the crew he joined on the notion he would be the captain, and we all know CoQ dont want to be ruled, they are the ones who other people gravitate towards instead. When he drew the Jolly Roger, he drew his own face. Whenever people asked who the captain was usopp would come in and say it was him before luffy hits him and says he’s the captain. He told luffy if he ever fails as a captain then he will take over and luffy laughs and agrees. Then we did eventually see usopp fight luffy for captaincy of the going merry.
Those with coc will naturally resist leadership and authority, look at Garp, Luffy, We all know Usopp’s lies become true, and during the wano arc, Usopp jokes about being a CoQ user, but we all know we shouldnt take this as a joke when it comes to Usopp, his lies always become true.
Usopp’s entire thing is conquroing his fear, and him conquroing his fear will lead him to achieving his goal of becoming a brave warrior of the sea, and that will eventually awaken his CoQ, since he has conqurored his fears.
Also, before anyone tries to say Usopp isnt strong enough for CoQ, you just dont understand CoQ. CoQ is not about strength, otherwise the admirals would have it, why dosent Law have it yet Kid does? Why does kid Ace have it? Being a CoQ user is about who you are at your core, not about strength. There is absolutely no reason why Usopp can’t have CoQ
So now you may wondering, okay cool, but you mentioned future sight, and thay very future sight is the key to beating Van Aguar, how? Why? Before the Jaya arc, Van Augar shoots 3 birds from such a far distance, that Usopp comments on how he can’t even see the island where the shooter, van aguar, was shooting from, commenting how impressed he is at this feat. This clearly indicates that whatever long range observation haki Usopp unlocked during Dressrosa, Van Augar has it to a much more proficient degree, seeing objects from much further distances
We all know haki blooms during battle, right? Luffy unlocked future sight during his fight with Katakuri, luffy unlocked advanced CoQ during his fight against Kaido, so maybe Usopp vs Van Augar will be an insanely long range fight, and Usopp will have to have adapt to Van Auagrs insanely long range observation haki. But is that really enough to beat Van Aguar?
If you can recall, Van Aguar also has the warp fruit, so even if Usopp can pinpoint his location with observation haki, its meaningless if Van Augar can just warp to a different direction, so how to counter this? Usopp will have no choice but to take his observation haki a step further and unlock future sight, if he shoots where the future predicts van agaur will be, then he can land solid blows on van agaur.
