The Identity of ''Zaza'' Is Obvious (1182)
After One Piece chapter 1182, the big debate is who is Zaza? Monkey D. Dragon, or Nami? Lets start with Nami, the strongest case for Nami potentially being Zaza is that she herself literally makes it rain using her weather balls, she’s an extremely talented navigator and overall her entire move set has always been weather related, you’d think it couldnt be more obvious that Zaza is nami, but here’s counter arguments for nami, every time a so called god is introduced in One Piece, they always have a devil fruit accompanying it, the sun god with the nika fruit, the elbaf warrior god with the nidgog fruit, etc. as these so called gods are just what people in the first world prayed and hoped for, resulting in devil fruits, vegapunk even said it dosent matter if gods exist in this world or not, what actually matters here are peoples beliefs, peoples beliefs that result in the creation of devil fruits, so it most likely that Zaza, the rain god, isnt a real god, but actually a devil fruit like nika, and nami is not a devil fruit user, and that for me debunks nami.
Not to mention, she already got upgraded with Yonko level power with big mom’s homies, if she was on the same tier as luffy, it just feels like a role too big for her,
Now lets look at Dragon. Although Dragon is more wind related rather than rain, Dragon’s first scene did have the same Zaza onomatapeio that this chapter Zaza has, its the same kanji/katakana, and guess what? Killingham said that the celestial dragons worst nightmare alongside nika and the will of D is Zaza, not only is Dragon a D, and nami isnt, but Dragon’s main mission is to take down the celestial dragons and Imu, tying him and zaza together, plus, the will of d, that killighma said celestial dragons fear, are known to bring the storm as law usually says, again, tying dragon and storms together. This is the most famous example.
When Monkey D. Luffy is about to be executed by Buggy in Loguetown, dark clouds suddenly gather and a massive storm begins.
Then lightning strikes the execution platform at the exact moment Luffy is about to die.
Immediately after:
violent winds erupt,
heavy rain starts,
and Dragon is revealed nearby watching everything.
Smoker even notices the bizarre weather shift and Dragon’s arrival is framed almost like the source of rain
And because Dragon wants to fight Imu, then he would essentially need a god fruit, the zaza fruit, to even be able to compete, since having a simple wind logia at this stage of the game isn’t going to cut it, we are way past the era of logia fruits, if Imu has the sea god devil’s fruit, luffy has the nika fruit, loki has the warrior god nidgog fruit, then Dragon would need the Zaza fruit to compete, its a role that he is big enough for unlike Nami. Oda has saved Dragon’s fighting ability longer than anyone else, even longer than the yonko, admirals, gorosei, and even Imu, so it seems fitting that a fruit this important belongs to Dragon and not nami who we’ve already seen fight multiple times and isn’t big enough for such a role carrying 800 years of weight and history behind it, dragon has much bigger beef with imu and the celestial dragons than nami does, dragon is literally obsessed with taking down the celestial dragons, so if zaza is the celestial dragon’s worst fear who brings down storms just like how dragon is the most wanted man because he is feared as a big threat to their rule and he is a D that brings the storm, then my conclusion is, Dragon is Zaza
