My good friend who I'll call Hitman for YouTube was putting rounds downrange with the ACR when it rapid fire malfunctioned as described in Bushmasters recall notice. You'll notice that he only pulls the trigger once when this happens!!!! It really suprised us since it was only the second or third mag when this happened and it had a little down time between mags to cool off.
A quick look at the guns that I ran hard for a function testing of each one. The LWRC has been flawless since day one but needs to be beaten just for my piece of mind.
The ACR had some weird jams ( 3 or 4 ) that I attributed to operator error that necessitated my desire to beat it up a little bit. Again I needed some piece of mind, and to know that it's rock solid.
The Kimber Ultra Raptor also had 3 or 4 jams on it's last outing so it needed a function test as well.
The LWRC ran PERFECTLY!!!!!!
The ACR had only 2 problems, both of which were attributed to me limp wristing the rifle while firing with the stock folded.
The Raptor jammed up by having double feeds 2 or 3 times but after the beating was steadily dumping whole mags without a hiccup. I didn't know what caused it, possibly some debris or dirt around the extractor; either way it's gone now and is functioning perfectly!!!
I'm back to trusting the ACR, and about %90 to trusting the Raptor. A bit more beating and I'll believe in the Raptor again if it doesn't hiccup.
