World War 1: What Really Happened When Tanks First Attacked?
The Western Front in World War I, which changed the course of world history, saw many new inventions that changed the game. Undoubtedly, tanks were at the forefront of these inventions. In this episode of the documentary series, we will recount the events of the Battle of Flers-Courcelette, where the first tanks were introduced to the historical stage. In this battle, which was part of the Somme Battles, tanks made their first appearance on the battlefield. Although the desired outcome was not achieved, it left positive signs for the future. At the same time, the French had also made significant progress in tank development. First with the Schneider CA-1, and then with the St. Chamond tanks, the French also entered the fray.
