Spend a Day in Manchester! Afflecks Palace & Arndale Centre!
Spend a Day with me in Manchester touring Afflecks Palace, the Manchester Arndale Shopping Centre, Forbidden Planet, WH Smiths, HMV, The Piccadilly Tavern, Be More Geek, and to top it off a night out at The Seven Stars JD Wetherspoon where I got to try Fish and Chips for the first time! And I got to go to all of these places with Adam Fishwick, Aaron Ball, Harry Williams Productions, James Davies, and Alex Goddard! We had a blast!
The day started out with Adam and I walking through Manchester to Piccadilly Station where I bought a brand new issue of Doctor Who Magazine from a WHSmiths and we met up with Aaron Ball and Harry Williams who took us to Afflecks Palace, a self-proclaimed emporium of eclecticism that we scoured for Doctor Who merchandise and found the largest collection of Doctor Who action figures for sale I’d ever seen!
We then went to the Manchester Forbidden Planet (a return visit for me) to look at their Doctor Who merchandise and graphic novels. All that shopping worked up an appetite so we went to The Piccadilly Tavern where I got to eat and cheers in my first ever pub where we met up with James Davies, a talented cosplayer and maker of custom Doctor Who action figures! We then visited the Manchester Arndale Shopping Centre, specifically Goldstar, and we got to watch a Day of the Dead march going on with music!
I got to go on a shopping spree in an HMV buying Classic Doctor Who DVDs new off the shelf! We then explored the Be more Geek store before going our separate ways and reconvening for a night out at The Seven Stars JD Wetherspoon where I got to try Fish and Chips for the first time and spend the evening hanging out with friends from the internet in real life. It was amazing and so much fun!
