After working in the logistics industry for nearly 20 years, I do not believe a college degree offers much value. Experience trumps all. Simply put, a university cannot prepare you for the fast pace and ever-changing demands of the logistics or supply chain industry.
This is not to say a college degree is a waste of time or money. However, it can only build a foundation of knowledge and give you a general base from which to build. Ultimately, you will have to get your hands dirty to build proficiency in this industry.
