Sometimes creating an illustration could be a very complicated and frustrating process. That's why You should divide it into simpler steps.
I was trying to create some illustrations but I found that I need to study composition etc.
I decided that I will do this piece in black and white
I started with the base silhouettes, a little bit of shading, and then I add more soft values.
So if You struggle with your art maybe try to divide it into similar segments? Instead of trying to create a great piece with a lot of colors and details. Try to do small steps maybe - sketch, base silhouettes, then shading, color, and in the end effects?
