i3 WM on an Ubuntu DistroBox on MicroOS: Is it Possible? | Not a Linux Guru Guy
In this episode, I install an Ubuntu distrobox on the Acer Aspire that I installed MicroOS last Saturday morning. Then to top that off, I also install a window manager in the Ubuntu distrobox and have it boot into it from the MicroOS host display manager. Yes, a distrobox that actually operates like a distro. What a concept! Plus, MicroOS already comes with Distrobox already pre-installed.
Note: This is not an officially supported use of MicroOS. Use at your own risk and don't expect support necessarily from the MicroOS team.
So follow along, as this will work with any number of host systems. Installation instructions are on Distrobox's Github web page listed directly below.
