Jason Alexander played George Costanza on Seinfeld. He was nominated for seven Primetime Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards for the role, but did not win any, mainly due to his co-star Michael Richards winning for his role as Cosmo Kramer. He did, however, win the 1995 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series.

Alexander was born in Newark, New Jersey, on September 23, 1959. He began his acting career in the early 1980s, appearing in a number of off-Broadway and regional theater productions. He made his television debut in 1984, with a guest-starring role on the soap opera "All My Children." In 1988, he was cast in the role of George Costanza on Seinfeld. The show was a huge success, and Alexander's performance was critically acclaimed. He remained with the show for its entire run, from 1989 to 1998.

Since Seinfeld, Alexander has continued to work in television, film, and theater. He has starred in a number of Broadway shows, including "Jerome Robbins' Broadway" and "The Producers." He has also appeared in a number of films, including "Pretty Woman" and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame." He has also directed a number of television shows, including "Dharma & Greg" and "Ugly Betty."
