Nel 1867 in Sudafrica viene trovato per la prima volta un diamante: a fare questa brillante scoperta è un ragazzo di quindici anni sulle sponde del fiume Orange. Eureka - questo è il nome dato alla pietra preziosa - segna l’inizio di una febbrile corsa ai diamanti che vede Kimberley come fulcro dell’azione.

In 1867 a diamond was found in South Africa for the first time: a boy of 15 year-old made this brilliant discovery on the shores of the Orange river. Eureka - this is the name of the gem - marks the beginning of a crazy diamond rush, which saw Kimberley at the center of the action. Today the diamond is kept in the Big Hole museum, right where we went to visit 😎
