Testimonials from participants in Opening Minds through Art (OMA) demonstrate that neither age nor limited cognition need interfere with artistic creation. Ohio gerontologist Dr. Elizabeth Lokon created what has become a worldwide program. Now with a million-dollar grant, the Virginia non-profit Art for the Journey aims to bring the benefits of this science-based, relationship-building initiative to thousands more participants.
