Viking shield vs axe. (with
In Rolf Warmings active shield use seminar we got him to test Arttus newest construction.
The shield is made out of 6 mm thick spruce planks that are thinned down to 3 mm on the edge from 5cm distance. The shield is coverred with pergament thin rawhide and is thus our lightest construction. We call it viking shield for youtube but it more like the the tiran bog shield than any scandinavian example.
The axe is made by Timo Miettinen to be similar to iron age find from Kokemäki Finland.
