The first of this series dealt with changing boundaries; today, we're sticking with the classic political map of Earth and looking at the changing concentrations of power (on the assumption that, regardless of what flag is planted there at the time, the residents will to some extent be descendants of the people resident in each land today.

Empires come and go. We have a pretty good idea these days what the next century or so will look like. We can, with a stretch, go a little further. This video ultimately explores the question of: Will the Earth ever be united - and under whose management?

Ultimately, yes... but by then, human tribal rivalries will be taken to the next level, so it will be a moot point.

And maybe that's when human beings are happiest: included in communities, but happy there are hedges and property lines marking and separating them. It's clear we're not ready to be Planet Kumbaya. Perhaps we never will be. Perhaps we should never try. If everywhere is the same place... what happens if the place sucks? Where do you go, then?
