Himalayan mountain range, 1999. Quique, Clara, and their young son Lucas are enjoying their first vacation together in northern India. One night, while sleeping under the stars during a storm, they are brutally attacked by bandits. Hours later, Quique is rescued by a local man and taken to a remote, isolated village in the mountains. There, cut off from communication and with no way back to civilization, he remains until the arrival of winter, which creates the only way out of the village: the frozen river. The perilous journey back, accompanied by several village children, will test everything Quique has learned during his time in the heart of the Himalayas.
