In this video, Jono is dusting off the frequently-overlooked ES2 to explain Vector Sequencing, which is a slightly estoteric way of taking sustained sounds and bringing bouncing, animated sequences to them. Exclusive Presets for Logic Synths ➡️ http://jono-buchanan-music-s-school.t...
Vector Sequencing lets you break up a fixed period of time - say, a bar - and split it up into a series of steps which can be the same length or of differing lengths. Next, you can introduce two parameters to the ES2's X-Y pad, each of which can have a snapshot offset applied to each stage of the Vector Sequence. If you make one of these target parameters Filter Cutoff, you can jump from bright to dull 'moments' within a sequence, producing a bubbling, bouncing result. Add some FX and judiciously Quantize and suddenly, you've got a pretty unique approach to sound creation.
