New York View: MTA Arts & Design Illustrates the City Artist Talk
MTA Arts & Design is responsible for the contemporary visual and performing arts programming in New York City’s transit environment. Illustrators have played a significant role in creating artwork that reaches into the lives of the 2.6 billion transit riders who use the system every year. Deputy Director Amy Hausmann talks with a few of the illustrators who have been commissioned to create public projects for this vast underground collection, including George Bates, Beatrice Coron, and Susan Farrington.
