This is the version of F-Zero AX hidden in F-Zero GX that you can access with hacks, not the actual true Triforce arcade version. Dolphin 5.0's been out for quite awhile now, but I get much better performance in this game using the older version.

I'd posted a video previously of how it was possible to play F-Zero AX, in the Gamecube version of F-Zero GX in Dolphin Emulator, through the use of Gecko codes. The code has now been updated for an even more accurate version of F-Zero AX, including it's title screen (although it still shows GX tracks in the background), attract modes, proper AX Game Over Screen (including anything you would've unlocked for your memory card) and best of all the additional AX racers - these were all previously missing from the previous video I'd uploaded.

Get the code from here:

I used the PAL version Gecko code 7 one (I meant to use 8, but highlighted 7 by mistake - but it works, so I didn't change it). To use it, open up Dolphin and then right click on F-Zero GX in the Dolphin GUI, click on 'properties' then 'Edit Config'. Underneath the text that's already there add the following text:

[Gecko]
$AX mode

Underneath that just copy and paste the Gecko code. Once you've done that close the text document to save your changes. Then fire the game up and (with the game in a minimised window) go to 'Tools', then 'Cheat Manager' and then 'Gecko Codes' and then tick 'AX Mode'. Sorted! I can't remember if I needed to close the emulator back down at that point or if it worked straight away, but either way, if it doesn't boot up the AX screen, then just close it down and it'll work once you re-start.

Big thanks to YouTube user CosmoCortney for his previous advice to me on how to get the original codes working. There's a bit of audio and skipping and framerate dropping here, made a bit worse by the video capture. It generally improves once there aren't quite so many CPU ships on the screen at one time.

My PC:
Intel core i5-2310 @2.90GHz - 8 GB
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 - 2 GB
Windows 7 Home Premium
