So this is finally done. Probably my biggest achievement in any game ever.
Level Thoughts:
The first section isn't too bad, mostly just some reasonably high CPS with some awkward timings. These do become consistent later on however. Moving onto Vermillions section, the transition into the ship is pretty horrible, and it can be quite hard to tell exactly how much height you are going to get after hitting the pad. Then there are the horrible ball timings at 17%. Idk why this is here, it's horrible to play and infuriating to die at. I'm pretty sure I was still finding new ways to screw up this section after 60K attempts and some sessions it would just become a nightmare where I would repeatedly die in bizarre ways and I'd get tilted very quickly. Michiguns bit is hilariously stupid. The amount of times I would mess up the easy 25% first jump was far too high and every time I did I wanted to throw my mouse through the screen. The SF is a little tricky (Idk why everyone jumps into the portal it seems way more consistent coming from the bottom) but the ball timings thankfully get consistent with practice. Then there is the 30% UFO. This pretty much served as a reason for me to stop playing the level. I expect to die here, so if I'm getting annoyed dying to the UFO it's probably time to take a break. Almost certainly the hardest 4 clicks in the level. Some days I would just be on it and would nail that section more often than not. The wave isn't so bad once learned but could still catch me out on occasion, and was very annoying to die at. Onto Evasium and I don't really have any complaints. If you get a weird transition from the wave to UFO the timings can be a bit awkward but on the whole this section is pretty good, and the lower difficulty gives you some time to relax. Which is good because Crack is up next. Crack is horrible, and the first 5% never got consistent. The inverse SF at 44% into the gravity switch SF 46% gap is one of the hardest bits of the level. It was so difficult to get a good transition, and I couldn't get consistent when trying to slide on the floor here. Thankfully 46-54% is a lot more manageable, maybe even fun to play. Asonics bit was the most painful part for me when trying to beat this level. I can handle dying, but the amount of times I messed this easy section due to nerves really wound me up. 1 day I got 8 runs past Crack, and only one of them made it to Etzer. After making it to Etzer a few times though the nerves started hitting me later on in the level, and I began failing less here which saved my sanity. The 3 deaths to what I can only presume is a bug at 69% also made my life miserable. Now we move into Etzer, and immediately note my 10 deaths at 71. Every single one of these was infuriating. The break you get between Asonic and Etzer really made me lose flow state, and I would find my hand just refusing to obey my brain here. Next the triple click at 74%. It took me literally thousands of attempts to understand this, it's not 3 clicks, it's 2 very fast clicks, then a tiny delay, then a third click. This was like a wall for me until I understood it. Everything from 75-80 is super awkward, and really hard to get muscle memory for. The SF transition in particular feels like playing the lottery. Havoks part is crazy fun and I love it, it's just great. Girons is also great but burdened by the awful 91% dual. I don't even know what this is. Nevermind that there is a click pattern that lets you stay as the mini and not die, the intended route is super challenging when nerves are a factor. I was lucky to only mess this up 3 times. Finally we reach Gboy, and this is not a section you want to deal with. Again the short break between sections really hinders your flow and in those couple of seconds anxiety really begins to take over. The 94% click is easy, but I still found a way to mess it up. And the 95% upside down SF is the single thing I would change about this level. It's brutal to have an inconsistent transition at the start, and it's more brutal dying to the transition at the end because you changed into a ball while being too high/low. This happened to me twice on runs. The rest of the clicks are easy, and thankfully I didn't mess them up. Until I had to rebeat since shadowplay messed up and I died at 96.
