How to use the object and material IDs script is a 3ds max video tutorial. You can print your IDs in the scene, and you can reset all your object and material IDs to have a clean 3ds Max scene.
You can search for a special object ID in your scene.
If you need you can give a random object IDs to a selection in your 3ds max project.
