Max Weber: Ethics of Conviction vs. Ethics of Responsibility
According to which ethics should one act as a politician? In his lecture "Politics as a Vocation," Max Weber introduces two fundamentally different orientations: the ethics of conviction and the ethics of responsibility. In this video, I explain the ethics of conviction and the ethics of responsibility using examples and illuminate the extent to which both orientations complement and/or exclude each other in politics.
