Photography 101: Shutter Speed Priority Mode
If you're looking to graduate up from Auto mode but full Manual seems a bit too much, then this two-part video series is for you. Here I break down two semi-automatic shooting modes that I use all the time.
In this second part I'll give you a 30,000 foot view of the Shutter Speed Priority Mode (Tv). This mode is great for freezing fast action into sharp, crisp photos.
In Part 1 we covered Aperture Priority Mode (Av). That mode is ideal for capturing portraits and product photos with blurry backgrounds (shallow depth of field) as well as landscape and architecture photos (deep depth of field).
To take things to the next level, consider the following steps:
Limit your ISO to reduce grain
Buy a solid tripod to experiment with long exposure photography (slow shutter speeds).
