SUMMARY

Procrastination is a thing that everyone does. You put off certain tasks and instead do more enjoyable or comfortable things.

But the strange thing about procrastination is that what seems comfortable now can lead to problems down the road.

Hey, a day only has 24 hours. So changing your life habits and maximizing your time are pretty important skills.

Today, we’ll look at the importance of consistency, pacing yourself, and motivation in defeating procrastination.

+++ 1. Be Consistent +++

The key to gaining control over your bad habit of procrastination is to be consistent in your life and follow through.

Jerry Seinfeld, for example, writes his jokes every single day. That way he has weeks, and finally months, of hard work and good content.

I wanted to consistently work the treadmill in my house. I literally had to put my gym clothes on the floor as a visual cue to remind myself that today was essential to keep the train moving.

Whatever your goal is, set yourself up to make consistency an easy habit to create.

+++ 2.Pace Yourself +++

Realize that Rome wasn't built in a day. And neither are good habits.

It's not about doing everything all at once, but rather breaking it down into smaller, manageable steps. Pace yourself, like in a marathon.

Let's say you're trying to read more. To finish a book, start small, maybe read ten or fifteen pages a day.

Want to eat healthier and lose weight? Start with two days of eating healthy. After your two days, try three. Then five. Before you know it, you'll have weeks.

Breaking it down into smaller steps will get you the results you want and will make you feel good because you accomplished something that day in smaller units.

By not looking at the enormity of your task, you focus on the process not the goal

Remember, it's the process that matters. Trust that you can master the process.

+++ 3.Stay Motivated +++

Motivation, or lack thereof, can be the biggest obstacle to getting any ball rolling.

But Tony Robbins said, "You either do things to avoid pain or gain pleasure, and the reason to avoid pain is usually stronger than to gain pleasure."

Take the papers I had to write in school. I wouldn't want to write my papers until the last moment, because as much I hated writing, I also didn’t want to get an F.

Or even post-college when I was in marketing and sales, I reminded myself that no sales meant no money.

Once I realized that, you better believe I went out and got those sales. I started with small steps, a call or two a day, and got a consistent routine going.

If you can find that thing that you want to avoid, whatever pain that is in your life, you can use that to motivate you and overcome procrastination.

Every journey, they say, starts with a single step. With consistency and a steady pace, you'll overcome that procrastination in no time.

It's a great feeling, one that I hope you experience starting today. With that said, I look forward to helping you arrive at your next intended destination healthy, wealthy, and happy!

ABOUT Jefferson Santos

At the young age of 25, life had Jefferson in a choke hold. His bank account was in the red at -$1,100 and his debt load of $70,000 told a similar tale.

Jefferson decided he needed a change.

With a newfound commitment, he turned that decision into a reality by discovering the Higher Life Design. Over time, this process helped him earn several million dollars and build a team of more than 300,000 leaders in more than 30 countries.

Most importantly, Jefferson has been able to build schools in Guatemala and other regions in desperate need of resources. Through “VolunTourism” he’s invested his time, talent, and treasures to those who need a hand up, not a hand out.

Jefferson now shares his Higher Life Design with people who want to arrive at their intended destination healthy, wealthy, and happy. If you’re looking to achieve the lifestyle and happiness you deserve then welcome to Higher Life Design.
