Ableton Live Tutorial 5 - Creating an IDM/glitch beat with FREQ OUT
seeIn these challenging times, we need audio plugins to scream, spit, belch, and mleghhhh.... "freq out" is here to give you instant access to an infinite number of sonic possibilities that ordinary synthesisers are simply not made to do, without lots of fiddling around with synnards (the innards of synthesisers).
This is a demo of my new Max for Live device, "freq out". It is a monophonic synthesiser that uses frequency modulation, with six sine wave oscillators in series. You can't play pitches with MIDI, but can trigger "liked" settings with keys C1 and above. Random settings can be generated with C0 and the current settings of the multisliders can be sent out with G0.
In this video, I record a few bits of audio using freq out and attempt to create an IDM/glitch/avant-garde electronica beat using nothing but freq out and native Ableton Live 9 plugins.
