Wasn't planning for the heat, but boy was it a hot one! Set off from Glennriding and up to the Summit of Helvellyn via a gorgeous Scramble around Striding edge. We took the obvious line towards Whiteside and down the very long descent of Glennriding common. Crossed over the bridge just after the YHA.
A bit naughty, cut through the plantation and found the line up to Red Yarn Beck - with close to 6k of very in the legs, this was a hard pull.
We finished the second ascent, but this time, with a rather Gnarly scramble up Swirrel Edge. Congratulated ourselves and once again, come down the same route, this time the quads were definitely feeling it.
Jason added a little extra at the end to take his tally up and we finished up with 15.8 miles and 6,306ft of total Vert.
A bit of unexpected heat exhaustion and sunburn - a thoroughly brilliant day out.
