A Community Rail conversation: Arundel Station Gateway project
More than a railway…💚
We're celebrating the work of our station partners, community groups and Southeast Communities Rail Partnership CIC in bringing together our railway and communities we serve for the greater good. A fine example is the recent work by Greening Arundel to revitalise the station's gateway to the town, which now has a community garden, clearer signage and wayfinding, and has brought together volunteers from across the local area.
In this extended conversation, Carole and Katrina tell us about the impact of the project beyond the station forecourt, across the town, across generations and across a range of stakeholders. Over 700 dedicated hours have gone into a new mural, removing weeds, planting and gardening.
The next time you alight at Arundel, turn right as you leave the main station building and enjoy a fresh, green gateway into one of our region's most charming towns. Thanks to everyone who's made it all happen!
