If you're thinking about buying a canoe, then you'll have to do a little bit of math to see if it's actually worth it.
Some people actually use "girl math" to justify spending an exuberant amount on a canoe compared to renting. Luckily for us, I double-checked the numbers and it does indeed make sense for us to buy a canoe instead of spending upwards of $75 a day to rent while we backcountry camp.
In the long run, because we camp so often, it makes financial sense to buy a canoe, along with all the accessories. Plus, if it's a nice day, we can load the canoe and go paddling as often as we want!
