Tom Hanks speaks Bulgarian in The Terminal
The Terminal is a 2004 comedy-drama film based on a true story. The language which Hanks' character (Viktor Navorski) speaks in the film is "Krakozhian". It is supposedly close to or a dialect of Russian to the point of mutual understanding, but is actually slightly-accented literary Bulgarian. Tom Hanks' wife, Rita Wilson is reported to have coached him in Bulgarian in the course of the shooting of the film.

Tom Hanks is married to Rita Wilson since April 1988. Her birth name is Margarita Ibrahimoff. She was born in Los Angeles, California and is half Greek (mother) and half Bulgarian (father, Bulgarian Pomak). Wilson is often credited with being the driving force behind Nia Vardalos's movie deal for My Big Fat Greek Wedding, which became the highest-grossing independent film of all time.
