Roundup May Be Doing More Than Just Killing Your Weeds...
Bayer insists that Monsanto’s weed killer, Roundup, doesn’t cause cancer. Juries in three separate cases apparently disagree, resulting in the company potentially paying out billions of dollars.
The main argument against Bayer is the safety of roundup’s key ingredient - glyphosate. Another component called polyoxyethylene tallow amine or POEA is also an issue.
An expert toxicologist said that when the two are combined, the POEA becomes 50 times more toxic. A recent verdict saw two plaintiffs receive a whopping $2 billion. There are about 13,000 lawsuits Bayer still faces, giving its executives a lot to think about
