How to enable Dynamic lock in Microsoft Windows 10 and 11?
Dynamic Lock is a feature in Windows 10 that automatically locks your computer when you're away, using a paired Bluetooth device i.e. your smartphone to determine if you're nearby. Here's how you can enable Dynamic Lock:
1. Pair Your Bluetooth Device:
Make sure your Bluetooth device e.g., smartphone is paired with your Windows 10 PC. Go to Settings - Devices - Bluetooth & other devices to add and pair your device if it's not already connected.
2. Enable Dynamic Lock:
Go to Settings by clicking on the Start menu and selecting the gear icon.
In the Settings window, click on Accounts.
In the left sidebar, select Sign-in options.
Scroll down to the Dynamic lock section.
Check the box that says Allow Windows to automatically lock your device when you're away.
3. Pair Your Bluetooth Device for Dynamic Lock:
Click on Bluetooth & other devices settings under the Dynamic Lock section.
In the Bluetooth settings, click on Add Bluetooth or other device.
Select Bluetooth from the options.
Choose your Bluetooth device from the list of available devices and follow the prompts to pair it with your PC.
4. Test Dynamic Lock:
Once you've paired your Bluetooth device and enabled Dynamic Lock, try walking away from your computer with your Bluetooth device. Windows should automatically lock your PC after a short period of being out of Bluetooth range.
Note: Dynamic Lock relies on the strength of the Bluetooth signal between your PC and the paired device. Make sure your Bluetooth device is within range and that Bluetooth is enabled on both your PC and the paired device for Dynamic Lock to work effectively.
