It is now 6 weeks in on this journey incorporating the seven daily habits. Everything has been consistent and these habits have now become part of my life and changed my identity.
I know see myself as a happy and healthy person, who enjoys doing these habits now.
I'm at a point where these habits are just second nature to me, I don't wake up and think what I have to do anymore, I just begin my day and the habits just happen.
The main focus for this video is on how to keep habits. I will write a longer blog post about this, but I cover some of the things that have helped me keep habits compared to in the past when I could just keep a habit for 1-2 weeks.
The three main things to keep habits are accountability, the want to change, and self-critiquing when you don't keep a habit.
These videos are something that hold me accountable, if I didn't have these videos I would have stopped this journey last month and gone right back to my old ways. There are many different ways you can hold yourself accountable, just find the right one for you.
The next is the want to change. By watching this video, reading self-help books/articles and just beginning the idea of changing is the first step on creating and keeping habits. Without the want to change none of this would be possible. I wanted to be happy and change my life, I've wanted to do this for a while now, but I always had the want to change.
The last thing to keep habits going is to self-critique yourself when/if you mess up the habits. It's so easy to just give up on habits once you mess up, the amount of times in the past where I would mess up and just say "Ok that's it, don't need to do this anymore."
Now on this journey, when I broke my habits a month ago I looked into the exact reasons why I broke the habits. For me, the diet was giving me issues because I ate the same meal pretty much 5 times in a week, this wasn't a recipe for success.
I realized the issue to this and to fix this issue I just got better at cooking, now 6 weeks in the diet has been easy for me, I enjoy cooking now. I feel like I'm getting better at cooking every day and it's fun for me.
That's it for this weeks video, I hope you enjoy it and I will post the blog going further into detail about all of this in the upcoming days.
