09-08-2023 Bowie, TX - 200 acre fire started by welding crew claims multiple homes
Friday after noon bowie and other surrounded fire departments responded to the Cole rd area for a reported grass fire started by a welding crew building a fence. Upon arrival they found a fast moving fire and immediately started evacuating homes near by with the help of state troopers and Sheriff deputies. Sadly, multiple homes and vehicles and other buildings where destroyed or severely damaged. Luckily nobody was hurt but 1 fire fighter did collapse and was transported to a near by hospital for heat exhaustion.
