Cassava is a staple food for Guyana’s Indigenous people. The versatile crop is used to prepare many dishes and even some beverages. Cassava bread is arguably the most well-known Indigenous dish made from the root vegetable. Making cassava bread requires skill, patience, and a keen eye to ensure it doesn’t break apart while on the fire. It is also made using tried-and-tested Indigenous tools, making it a wholly authentic dish to be enjoyed with Pepperpot, Tuma, or whatever your taste buds crave.
