This is a replica of the Cape Lookout Lighthouse located in South Core Banks on Cape Lookout Lighthouse Road on Harkers Island, North Carolina. This lighthouse is on 24-7 and flashes every 15 seconds. This DCB-224 Aerobeacon with dual reflectors makes a full rotation every 30 seconds. The Cape Lookout Lighthouse has an elevated doorway with a stairway leading up to it. This is because a hurricane destroyed the attached building. This building led to the lighthouse with the entrance being on the second or third floor. The Cape Lookout Lighthouse is the southernmost lighthouse on the Outer Banks. All lighthouses south of this point are on the mainland.
