Strange Ice
Very warm weather for this time of year in Vermont, a series of 50 degree days after a week of temperatures in the teens. The ice is melting in patterns that are very surprising. Lines and grids of dots. At first I thought the dots were caused by grains of dirt, but there is dirt on top of the pattern, and why would the grains be separated in such a regular pattern? Puzzling and amazing and counter-intuitive and fun.
