dyeing another scarf... with coffee! ☕️
hello! I had a lot of fun dyeing with onion skins so I decided to keep experimenting with natural dyes. This time I'm dyeing another little wool scarf with coffee. This video is very similar to my last one... maybe not so exciting but oh well, hope u enjoy (:

A few notes
I used 100% wool (35g/122m) and 4mm needles. Here is the yarn I used:

The scarf is knit in 2x2 knit stitch
I soaked the scarf in water with washing powder (scouring) for about 2 hours and then rinsed
I used alum powder as a mordant, the blog post says to use cream of tartar as well for wool but I couldn't find any in my local stores
I dissolved about 5g of alum powder in water. I then brought the water to a gentle simmer with the scarf and turned off the heat leaving the scarf to soak overnight.
I ground up 30g of coffee beans and made about 600ml of coffee
After gentling simmering for about 10-15 minutes I soaked the scarf in the dye bath over night (approx. 15 hours)
Super happy with the colour, and the scarf doesn't smell like coffee after rinsing!
