Radiator Fan Ebike (14 Inch Mini Version)
This is my radiator fan motor Powered Ebike:
It runs off of a 12v Ni Cad battery pack (that I charged with a car battery charger), and a drill trigger for the throttle. I just wanted to test the torque and speed, so I found a childrens bike for 5$ at the local community recycling center, and stole the rad fan motor from my vw golf mk3 parts car, then I broke the blades off the fan and used a file to get rid of the excess, then sandpaper to make it smooth.
Notes: There are 2 speeds on the rad fan motor, this demonstration is using the high speed configuration... This might even work better with 18v or 24v? A smaller diameter on the motor and more voltage would give it enough torque for small hills?... The motor runs cool to the touch at 12v... Also I have seen people use a small belt instead of chain, maybe that will work. I am going to make a PWM controller and put this on a full sized bike soon :)
